OMG! What DID we do??

Well, all of our 2019 plans are shattered beyond recognition. I can’t believe that I have been so indecisive. Ever since we left Unalakleet we have been debating back and forth. What next? We sure tossed a lot of ideas around. We missed the water and our boat, but we also enjoy traveling in the truck. We definitely decided that a brick and stick house was not for us. To be honest, We love traveling in the camper, but we also have some treasures and some hobbies that just didn’t fit into the camper. We did not want to go bigger. We did not want to live with everything in a storage locker.

Time went by. We debated back and forth as the property sat on the market. We sure enjoyed the road trip last year. Then we started touring in the Lower 48. RV parks are insanely expensive. Boondocking is getting scarce. We saw some things that made our hearts break. People are trashing boondocking areas. Now there are fences and signs prohibiting overnight parking. Maybe we are just making excuses to go home or…. go back to our boating lifestyle.

We dearly loved cruising in Alaska and over seas. We loved the slower pace of travel. We loved being out on the water. Then… we saw our last boat for sale. We scrambled trying to figure out how to purchase her. Unfortunately (or maybe not), She sold before we could sell our property. Meanwhile, that thirst was back. We found a boat down in Long Beach.

We took a road trip down and, well, she was perfect! The property had a buyer. Then I got cold feet… just for awhile. What about our coast to coast road trip plans? What about our awesome truck and camper? We sat down and re-evaluated everything in our lives. The choice was perfect… buy the boat. Sail back to Alaska. Cruise and live in Southeast enjoying the inside waters with possible ocean crossings down to the South Pacific or Mexico. We could keep the camper for road trips when the Alaska winters get the best of us.

BUT…. What about our 2019 road trip? Well, we are putting it off. We will do the road trip next year after the boat is all tucked into its home port somewhere in Southeast Alaska.

So, this trip is officially delayed. Follow us as we prepare and take our boat back to Alaska at my new blog: SV Tender Spirit We will add new RV Truck Camping stuff as we go along between the boat and the camper. I guess we will have two homes instead of one!
