Where are we?

The image says it all! We are welcoming in the new year at Las Vegas. We decided to pause our winter road trip to spend time with friends and family. I also needed work on some publishing projects. Now that the holiday season is about concluded, it is time to plan out 2019.

We had some challenges last fall, fun challenges mind you, but we needed to slow down and make some commitments so that we could carry on for the next 12 months. Joan is busy writing a set of fantasy novels so we needed to plan for plenty of writing time. We seriously considered jumping into a new sailboat, but with the blooming publishing business, we decided to hold back and concentrate on enjoying the lower 48.  We have not traveled much outside of Alaska with the exception of sailing the west coast. We decided that 2019 would be a perfect year to explore our country.

So, we are going to see America. We will officially start in Las Vegas with a quick trip to San Fransisco to visit friends. From there we will work our way eastward. A lot will depend on the weather. We don’t want to get caught up in some of the brutal winter storms so, we will hug the southern border. The plans, like our sailing motto is to write them neatly at low tide. When the tide comes in, we can rewrite them any way we please. We will wander about and explore as long as its fun. We always reserve the right to change our mind for whatever reason we concoct.
